Thuuz NBA Mid-Season Report: Top Games

March 8th, 2011

Let's begin with the Top Ten Games of the 2010 - 2011 season. An unremarkable match-up early in the season: Utah at Miami on November 9. Miami dominates the game from the start. They lead by 22 in the second quarter and 19 by halftime. Wade ends up with 39 points; James has a triple double, Bosh scored 19. Home team wins, right?

Wrong.

Paul Millsap catches on fire: hits a trio of threes with less than a minute to go in regulation, sends the game into overtime, and ends up scoring 46 points on the night. Utah stuns the home crowd and wins by two. An unlikely comeback; an unlikely hero; an unlikely victory. This is why they play the game.

Additional observations regarding the Top Ten Most Exciting Games through the All-Star Break:

  • Seven of the Top Ten Games took place in November
  • Philadelphia at Washington shows up twice in the Top Ten (both games in November)
  • OKC shows up three times in the Top Ten, the only team to do so
  • Utah is the only team to show up as both a home team and a visiting team in the Top Ten
